As far as we are concerned, Noah’s Ark is the best outdoor waterpark in the Dells! If you’re staying at one of our Lighthouse Cove properties, it is a very short walk. This waterpark has appropriate rides for all age groups and levels of adventure.

To be fair, this isn’t my thing. However, based on how much my wife and her friends love this place I had to add it to the list. Sundara is the premier spa in Wisconsin. Conde Nast Traveler ranked it #11 for destination spa’s in the United States in 2021. Definitely make your reservation in advance.

Available seasonally, this multi-million dollar Christmas production right here in Wisconsin! The food (served family style) is just okay, that’s not the point. The show is phenomenal! I’d suggest arriving an hour before the show starts. Once you check-in with the ticket counter, head over to the bar and enjoy a festive holiday cocktail or mocktail. When you’re done with your drink and taking pictures in the lobby, head to your table. I’d suggest being seated about 30 minutes before the show starts. Your server will take great care of you. Have some cash available to leave a tip.

Is it a zoo? Is it a park? Is it an immersive interactive learning experience? Yes, it is all of these things. It seems that this place gets better each year. The Parakeet Encounter is a kid’s favorite where they will be surrounded by birds wanting to eat from their hands. We have not done the train ride so we cannot comment on that.

I took my 8-year-old niece to this show in July 2022. I was so disappointed that I had never done this before because it was great! Rick Wilcox and his family run the theater and the show. He and his wife are the stars of the show and besides being funny they do great magic! The show is super family friendly. You’ll love it!

This is an interactive game played in a 30,000 sq foot wizard themed world. It gets very good online reviews and I have done it with an 8-year-old. I think that is about the youngest I would recommend taking here.

You are given an iPad when you arrive. The iPad is used to complete quests while moving through the world. This is sort of a mix of an escape room and a fantasy game. I think it would be very difficult or impossible to complete all of the quests available in the 2 hour time limit.

I have two duck tours on the list because we like both of them. Both are very similar tours and they do a great job with dumb (but funny) jokes and they take you through some breathtakingly beautiful sites. The Original Wisconsin Ducks seem to have more land than water. The Dells Army Ducks seem to have more water than land. Both tours stop short of the finish to try and sell you touristy junk. We always politely decline but we do tip the driver.

This company offers some other fun adventures as well. I really enjoyed the Wildthing! jet boat tour. It is a tour of the upper dells that has some history and geology mixed with rock n roll. It is about 2 hours all total with about an hour on the actual boat. You will get wet. I have not done the Bigfoot Zipline but my some of my family members have and they really had fun with it as well.

Have you been on Soarin’ at Epcot? This is the Wisconsin Dells version of that ride. If you are not familiar with this ride it is similar to a large IMAX screen in front of seats that gently move to give you an immersive experience complete with smells, breeze, and more. It truly feels as though you are flying over some of the most beautiful places in Wisconsin and America. We saved a few dollars by purchasing our tickets at the front entrance of the Wilderness as opposed to the actual Take Flight desk.

This horse-drawn wagon tour takes about an hour. I’ve done it with little kids and grandparents and everyone seems to enjoy it. The tour takes you through Lost Canyon which is a mile long trail deep inside a gorge. It is very beautiful.

Fishing, swimming, kayaking and hiking opportunities. I use their trails for hiking and running. The park is more than 2000 acres of beautiful trails and a lake that is frequently so calm that it reflects its wooded and cliff lined shores perfectly. I have parked at Ishnala on occasion as there are trails from that side of the park.

This is Wisconsin’s most visited state park. The park has large picnic areas, sandy beaches, hiking, mountain biking, peddle boat and SUP rentals and so much more. It is one of the most beautiful parks we have ever seen.

Classic bowling alley with good customer service. We really have fun here in the winter or on rainy days. They have pretty decent bar food too. People always brag about the burgers.

The Wisconsin Dells does not have a cheese shop to rival Mars Cheese Castle in Kenosha. However, Market Square has a great variety of cheese and sausages. The store has a large offering of Wisconsin themed gifts as well. There is also an ice cream counter in the back.

This is the go-to spot for your sweet tooth. The building is decked out in pink and ringed with old fashioned merry-go-round horses. They claim the title of Wisconsin’s Largest Candy Store and is home to over 1,000 varieties. They also are the home of an ice cream shop stocked with a variety of flavors of hard-packed as well as many gelatos. There is a second location on Broadway.

This is a bit outside of the Dells. It takes about 30 minutes to get to from most of our properties. However, it is very much worth the trip. The property is gorgeous and you can easily spend the afternoon here. The bistro has simple but delicious foods that you can enjoy while drinking a glass of wine. The shop has reasonably priced tastings and plenty of wine for purchase. The distillery has delicious cocktails…we recommend the Old Fashioned or the Manhatten. DO NOT LEAVE WITHOUT TRYING A BRANDY OLD FASHIONED COOKIE!

Whether on a weekend getaway with your significant other or on a family vacation the Yeti Yard is a great stop. The Yeti Yard has Mario Kart style go-carts and a mini golf course. The mini golf is a quick play however they do serve beverages and have cup holders on each hole. The Yeti Yard is very reasonably priced and a great activity if you are looking for something to do for 1-2 hours.

Dells Mining Co. is a fun hands-on experience for the family. you pan for natural precious and semi-precious gemstones from all around the world. This is a great activity not only for the younger ones but for everybody. Dells Mining Co would be great for a rainy day or just a day off from the parks.
